New trends in smaller chainrings – plus a motive to craft a lighter oval chainring for mountain bikes, resulted in Direct Mount Q rings. In addition to biomechanical performance, there was one more important factor when designing our Q rings: compatibility. The simplified one-piece design saves approximately 40 grams compared to standard ring+spider+bolts combination (for example, weight savings for a 32t ring is 40g). New Direct Mount Q rings allow you to upgrade your SRAM BB30 crankset to go oval. Direct Mount oval chainrings can be dialed in to take advantage of the most-powerful part of your pedal stroke to give you faster acceleration and better traction when you need it most.

Optimum Chainring Position (OCP) represents the different setup positions that ROTOR Q rings offer to fit a rider’s distinct pedaling style. Q rings feature up to 5 OCP´s, with OCP 3 as an intermediate starting point, all to optimize your pedaling style.
You can determine your OCP if you know your Optimum Chainring Angle (OCA), which can be found by conducting a TORQUE 360 pedal analysis via ROTOR´s 2INpower and INpower User Software.
